NEED HELP?

Thank you for your interest in the Loyola Service Team.   We partner with non-profit agencies, institutions, and organizations that offer service to people who are poor or marginalized and who can offer meaningful volunteer experiences to mature adults.

Who are Loyola Service Team volunteers?

Women and men, 50 years of age and over, with time and a desire to help others, a willingness to reflect on their service with a community of volunteers and an interest in spirituality and social justice.

When do Loyola Service Team volunteers serve?

LST Volunteers serve one or two days a week through a nonprofit agency with a schedule to be mutually agreed between agency and volunteer. They also meet monthly to engage in serious reflection in the Ignatian tradition about their service experience. This program of reflection offers volunteers the opportunity to deepen their commitment to service with others and their own spirituality.

What do Loyola Service Team volunteers do?

Currently our volunteers:

  • Provide support to Campus Ministry at St. Martin de Porres High School
  • Support Diocese of Cleveland Prison Ministry
  • Administrative support for the Westside Catholic Center
  • Facilitate St. Ignatius High School Students ministering to the homeless
  • Help homeless and needy in the parishes of St. Mary of the Fall and St. Augustine

Is there a fee for a Loyola Service Team volunteer?

Loyola Service Team's long term goal is to match volunteers to every agency requesting a volunteer and with no  partnership fees.  Until that time,  the fees from our partner agencies (non-profits) that benefit from the service of an LST  volunteer are based on the amount required to cover the minimal costs of our organization, which currently has no paid staff, only volunteer administrative positions.

These fees help fund an equally important part of our mission -- to minister to our volunteers by providing opportunities for faith-formation and fellowship in the Ignatian tradition. We are also funded by a variety of sources, including benefactors, individual donors and private foundations.
